Terms of Service
These terms were written in Korean. If the two versions differ, the Korean version prevails. Read the Korean version.
This document is not yet in effect. It applies from 22 October 2026. Until then the current version 1.0 applies.
What changes — paid items (section 9), advertising (section 10) and linking an external account (section 4) are added. Everything that changed is listed below.
Paid items and ads arrive in an app update after these terms take effect.
1. Purpose
These terms set out the conditions for using GEMPIRE ("the service"), provided by majunolja ("the studio").
2. Definitions
- User — a person who uses the service under these terms
- Account — the unit the service creates to distinguish users
- Game data — results, rating, achievements, owned items and other records created while using the service
- Paid item — an item within the service that a user pays to use
3. Effect and changes
These terms take effect when posted in the service or on this page. The studio may change them within the limits of applicable law, announcing changes 7 days in advance, or 30 days in advance where the change is unfavourable to users.
If you continue to use the service after the announcement period without objecting, you are taken to have accepted the change. If you do not accept it you may delete your account and stop using the service.
4. Accounts
There is no sign-up step. An account is created from an identifier generated on your device the first time you open the app. We do not ask for your real name, email address or phone number.
Your account is tied to your device. If you change or reset your device you cannot return to your previous account, and results, rating, achievements and owned items will not carry over. Uninstalling and reinstalling on the same device does keep them.
Linking an external account carries your account across devices. Signing in with the linked account returns you to it. Linking is required to buy a paid item — a purchase made on a device-only account cannot be recovered if the device is lost.
If the external account you are linking already holds other game data, you choose which one to continue. The studio does not merge the two.
5. Provision and changes to the service
The studio may change the content, structure and delivery of the service. Where all or part of the service is discontinued we will give advance notice where possible. Where this is not possible — natural disaster, equipment failure or similar — notice may be given afterwards.
6. User obligations
You must not:
- insult, harass, or use hateful language towards other users;
- use unauthorised programs or interfere with the normal operation of the service;
- deliberately abandon matches or manipulate their outcome;
- use another person's account without permission;
- copy, distribute, modify, or reverse-engineer the service;
- make improper use of a payment method;
- otherwise breach applicable law.
7. Reports and sanctions
You can report or block another user from within the service. When a report is filed, that user is immediately blocked from you and excluded from matching with you.
Where section 6 is breached, the studio may issue a warning, limit features, suspend use, or terminate the account. If you disagree with a measure, please contact us.
8. Game data and rankings
Game data has meaning only within the service. It is not property you own and cannot be exchanged for money. Where operationally necessary we may adjust rating or ranking calculations, with advance notice.
Data granted in error or through cheating may be adjusted or withdrawn.
A paid item is also only a right to use it within the service. Ownership does not transfer to you, and it cannot be exchanged for money or passed to another user.
9. Paid items
9.1 Payment
Paid items are purchased through Google Play's payment methods. The studio never receives payment instrument details such as card numbers; we receive only the transaction identifier and the product, which we use to confirm what to grant.
Prices are shown in the in-app shop in Korean won, inclusive of VAT. If the displayed price and the amount charged differ, the displayed price governs.
All paid items are non-consumable. Once purchased they remain available on the same account, and they carry across devices when you sign in with a linked account.
9.2 Withdrawal and refunds
Under the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce you may withdraw your purchase within 7 days of buying.
However, under article 17(2) of that Act, withdrawal may be limited for a paid item you have already used. Even then, withdrawal is not limited where:
- the item differs from how it was described or advertised, or was delivered otherwise than agreed;
- a fault in the service prevented you from using it;
- the payment was made without an intention to purchase (including a payment by a minor without the consent of a legal representative).
Within 48 hours of purchase you can request a refund directly from Google Play. After that, contact us and we will apply the criteria above and tell you the outcome.
9.3 Purchases by minors
Where a minor pays without the consent of a legal representative, the minor or that representative may cancel the payment. Cancellation may be limited where the minor paid with property the representative permitted them to dispose of, or led us to believe they were an adult.
9.4 Changes and discontinuation
The studio may change the composition or price of paid items. Items you have already bought are not affected by such a change.
If provision of a paid item is discontinued for unavoidable reasons, we refund the unused portion in accordance with applicable law.
10. Advertising
The service displays advertising.
| Format | Where it appears |
|---|---|
| Banner | The lobby, and the match result screen |
| Full screen | When leaving the result screen after a match ends |
No advertising is shown while a match is in progress. Ads are restricted to the general audience content rating.
To stop ads appearing, buy Remove ads in the shop. To refuse only personalised ads, delete your advertising ID or opt out in your device settings.
Advertising content is selected by the ad provider; the studio does not control individual ads. Any transaction arising from an advertisement is between you and that advertiser, and the studio bears no responsibility for it.
11. Deleting your account
You may delete your account at any time, from Settings → Account → Delete account in the app, or through the account deletion request page.
Deletion cannot be undone. Results, rating, achievements and owned items are all lost, and opening the app again on the same device, or with the same external account, creates a new account.
Items you purchased are lost too, and no refund is given for them. A purchase record held by the app store cannot restore a deleted account. If you want a refund, request it under section 9 before deleting your account.
What happens to your data after deletion is described in section 7 of the Privacy Policy.
12. Interruptions
The service may be suspended temporarily for maintenance, equipment replacement, network failure, or other operational needs. Online play depends on your network conditions.
13. Intellectual property
Rights in the service and its content belong to the studio. You may not use them commercially, or allow others to do so, without prior consent.
14. Limitation of liability
The studio is not liable for loss arising from causes outside its responsibility, such as natural disasters, network failures, or problems with your device. The studio has no obligation to intervene in disputes between users.
The studio remains liable under applicable law for loss caused by its wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Both parties will make a good faith effort to resolve any dispute. Failing agreement, proceedings may be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
For consumer disputes you may also apply to the Korea Consumer Agency (1372) or the Electronic Commerce Dispute Mediation Committee.
